I started my first small business in my teens when I had a paper route in our neighborhood. I rode my bike everyday dropping off newspapers in the afternoon after school. In those days, newspapers were delivered in the afternoon, not in the morning! I then went door-to-door to collect the money for the newspapers I had delivered. I found out at a very young age that getting paid by customers could be a challenge, especially since most everything was paid by cash or check! I also remember getting some nice bonuses from my customers at Christmas time! I saved the money I earned and used it to help purchase my first car. That first experience really gave me the entrepreneurial bug and since that time, I have owned a dog treat business and my own consulting business in the retirement plan space. I believe in constant learning so I started learning about internet marketing and web design. I began taking online courses to learn WordPress (webdesign software), ClickFunnels, the premier Internet Marketing and Sales Funnel software and video marketing software and techniques. I am so fascinated with all the options available to make it very easy to communicate directly with clients. I decided to learn as much as I could so I could help small businesses build their online brand recognition. In the process I have learned and embraced mobile technology, which is fast becoming the number one way people purchase goods and services. The proliferation of mobile devices provides big opportunities for business owners and implementing the best mobile strategy for a business is just a matter of identifying the best approach. I have worked for several large corporations, Nationwide Insurance, American Express and FIS Sungard Relius plus a couple of smaller entrepreneurial companies, from which I experienced two job layoffs. So the allure of owning my own business surfaced again. My mother had taught me to embrace new technology so I became determined to build a business to help small business owners install better online solutions. Throughout my working career, I have become an expert at creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and have expanded that knowledge to build high quality video presentations, webinars and training classes. And so, Kangaroo Business Group (KBizGroup) was born. My goal is to help small businesses expand their business opportunities through stunning websites, mobile applications, video presentations, webinars and training classes.
